Itinerary
Hike to Taktsang (Tiger Nest). Then visit to Kyichu temple (one of the oldest temples built in 7th century by Tibetan King Songtshen Gompo. Overnight at hotel in Paro
The journey starts with short climb up to Jele Dzong. Visit Jele Dzong and the camp site will be there (3400m). If the weather is clear you can see clear Paro valley.
The trail takes you through the thick alpine forest and rhododendrons and you will see the view of Mt. Chomolhari and other peak mountains. Overnight at Jangchulakha
After breakfast, drive to the base point and start a hike to Taktsang (tiger nest) monastery which hangs in the middle of the cliff. It was blessed by Guru Rinpoche (a precious master) in 8th century and it is believed that Guru Rinpoche transformed himself into a wrathful form (Guru Dorji Drolo) and his spiritual consort into tigress who flew from Singay Dzong in eastern side to mediate and subdue the evil spirits. Lunch at Taktsang Cafeteria or local restaurant. Then walk down to base point where you will be picked by your car and after that town tour or shopping of traditional Bhutanese products. Overnight in Paro
The trail follows the ridge and on the clear day you can see the view of Mt. Jichu Drake (6989m) and other peaks. The camp will be very close to Jimilangtsho (lake) which are famous for fish (trout) whereby you can make a visit after camp.
The trails take you through the thick forest of rhododendron trees and passes Janetsho. Overnight camp near Simkota Lake
With the gradual hike, you will see the view of Mt. Gangkar Phuensum and other peaks. Then gradually descends through Juniper trees to Phajoding camp site.
The trek to Thimphu is downhill passing through a thick blue pine forest. After lunch, sightseeing in Thimphu and overnight at Thimphu in hotel
